Lectano trzyma Twoje książki w Twojej przeglądarce. Nie ma kont, nie ma serwera z Twoją biblioteką, nie ma analityki ani reklam. Na zewnątrz wychodzą tylko dwie rzeczy i obie włączasz sam: Dysk Google, jeśli zechcesz mieć książki na swoim koncie, i pytania do modelu językowego, jeśli z nich skorzystasz. Poniżej jest napisane dokładnie co, kiedy i dokąd.

Co zostaje w przeglądarce

Wgrane pliki książek, rozłożony z nich tekst, kotwice, zaznaczenia, notatki, rysunki, tablice, postęp czytania i wszystkie ustawienia leżą w magazynach IndexedDB i localStorage Twojej przeglądarki, na Twoim urządzeniu. Nie wysyłamy ich nigdzie i nie mamy do nich dostępu — nie istnieje serwer, na którym byłaby Twoja biblioteka.

Ma to drugą stronę, o której trzeba wiedzieć: wyczyszczenie danych witryny w przeglądarce kasuje to bezpowrotnie i nie mamy jak tego odtworzyć. Kopię robisz sam — eksportem do EPUB, SVG, JSON, Markdown lub PDF albo połączeniem z Dyskiem.

Serwer, który wysyła stronę

Strona to zwykłe pliki. Serwer WWW zapisuje w dzienniku to samo, co zapisuje każdy serwer WWW: adres IP, czas, żądany adres, kod odpowiedzi i identyfikator przeglądarki. Nie ma tam ani jednego zdania z Twoich książek i ani jednej notatki — te nigdy nie opuszczają urządzenia. Dziennik służy diagnostyce i obronie przed nadużyciem.

Nie używamy ciasteczek śledzących, nie osadzamy analityki, liczników ani wtyczek społecznościowych. Kroje pisma są wbudowane w pliki strony, więc przy zwykłym czytaniu nie pobierasz niczego z cudzych serwerów.

Dysk Google — tylko jeśli połączysz

Połączenie z Dyskiem jest w pełni opcjonalne. Aplikacja działa bez niego i nie prosi o nie przy wejściu.

Prosimy o jeden zakres uprawnień: drive.file. Daje on dostęp wyłącznie do plików, które ta aplikacja utworzy, oraz do tych, które sam wskażesz w oknie wyboru Google. Reszty Twojego Dysku aplikacja nie widzi i nie ma jak zobaczyć — to ograniczenie wymuszone przez Google, a nie nasza obietnica.

Książki lądują w folderze Lectano_biblioteka na Twoim koncie. To Twoje pliki na Twoim Dysku; my nie mamy do nich dostępu i nie przechodzą one przez nasz serwer — Twoja przeglądarka rozmawia z Google bezpośrednio.

Żeton dostępu żyje tylko w pamięci karty. Nie zapisujemy go ani w IndexedDB, ani w localStorage: żeton w trwałym magazynie przeżywa zamknięcie karty i staje się czymś, co można wykraść. Zamknięcie karty kończy sesję.

Zgodę cofniesz w każdej chwili na stronie myaccount.google.com/permissions. Do plików, które trafiły na Twój Dysk, stosuje się polityka prywatności Google.

Korzystanie przez Lectano z informacji otrzymanych z interfejsów Google podlega Zasadom dotyczącym danych użytkownika usług API Google, w tym wymaganiom ograniczonego użycia (Limited Use). Danych z Dysku nie wykorzystujemy do reklam, nie sprzedajemy ich, nie udostępniamy osobom trzecim i nie używamy do trenowania modeli.

Model językowy — tylko na Twoje kliknięcie

Dwie funkcje mogą poprosić o pomoc model językowy: odczyt pisma odręcznego z Twojej notatki oraz układanie pytań i luk do przeczytanego fragmentu. Uruchamiają się wyłącznie wtedy, gdy sam je wywołasz — nic nie dzieje się w tle.

Wtedy zaznaczony fragment tekstu (albo obraz Twojej notatki) razem z poleceniem idzie do naszego pośrednika pod lectano.com, a stamtąd do modelu Google pod generativelanguage.googleapis.com. Twoje konto Google nie jest do tego potrzebne i nie jest wysyłane.

Pośrednik trzyma podręczną pamięć odpowiedzi, żeby to samo pytanie nie kosztowało dwa razy. Na dysku serwera ląduje skrót polecenia i odpowiedź modelu — nigdy sam fragment książki. Odpowiedź zawiera krótkie cytaty z czytanego tekstu i tego uniknąć się nie da; to kilkadziesiąt słów, a nie rozdział. Pamięć ma ograniczoną pojemność i najstarsze wpisy z niej wypadają.

Dziennik pośrednika zawiera wyłącznie liczby: ile wywołań, ile tokenów, ile to kosztowało. Ani jednego zdania z książki, ani jednego pytania, ani jednej odpowiedzi — pilnuje tego osobny test uruchamiany przy każdym wydaniu.

Jeśli nie chcesz, żeby cokolwiek wychodziło na zewnątrz, po prostu nie używaj tych dwóch funkcji. Cała reszta — czytanie, kotwice, Rytm, adnotacje, tablice, wyszukiwanie i eksporty — działa bez modelu i ma działać bez modelu.

Dzieci

Aplikacja nie jest kierowana do dzieci poniżej trzynastego roku życia i nie zbiera świadomie ich danych.

Twoje prawa i jak usunąć dane

Nie prowadzimy kont i nie przechowujemy Twoich treści, więc nie mamy czego Ci wydać ani czego skasować — dane są u Ciebie i tylko Ty masz nad nimi władzę. W praktyce:

Lectano keeps your books in your browser. There are no accounts, no server holding your library, no analytics and no advertising. Only two things ever leave your device, and you switch both on yourself: Google Drive, if you want your books on your own account, and questions sent to a language model, if you use those features. What follows says exactly what goes where, and when.

What stays in the browser

The book files you load, the text parsed from them, anchors, highlights, notes, drawings, boards, reading progress and every setting live in your browser's IndexedDB and localStorage, on your own device. We never send them anywhere and we cannot reach them — there is no server on which your library exists.

This cuts both ways, and you should know it: clearing site data in your browser deletes all of it permanently, and we have no way to restore it. Make your own copies — export to EPUB, SVG, JSON, Markdown or PDF, or connect Drive.

The server that sends the page

The site is ordinary files. The web server writes the same log every web server writes: IP address, time, requested path, response code and browser identifier. It holds not one sentence from your books and not one note — those never leave your device. The log exists for diagnostics and for defence against abuse.

We use no tracking cookies and embed no analytics, counters or social plugins. Typefaces are built into the page files, so ordinary reading fetches nothing from anyone else's server.

Google Drive — only if you connect it

Connecting Drive is entirely optional. The application works without it and does not ask for it when you arrive.

We request a single scope: drive.file. It grants access only to files this application creates and to files you pick yourself in Google's own chooser. The rest of your Drive is invisible to the application and there is no way for it to look — that limit is enforced by Google, it is not a promise of ours.

Books go into a Lectano_biblioteka folder on your account. They are your files on your Drive; we have no access to them and they do not pass through our server — your browser talks to Google directly.

The access token lives only in the tab's memory. We store it neither in IndexedDB nor in localStorage: a token in persistent storage outlives the tab and becomes something that can be stolen. Closing the tab ends the session.

You can withdraw consent at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Google's privacy policy applies to files once they are on your Drive.

Lectano's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Drive data for advertising, do not sell it, do not share it with third parties and do not use it to train models.

The language model — only when you click

Two features may ask a language model for help: reading your handwriting from a note, and building questions and gap exercises from a passage you have read. They run only when you invoke them — nothing happens in the background.

When you do, the selected passage (or the image of your note) travels together with the instruction to our proxy at lectano.com, and from there to Google's model at generativelanguage.googleapis.com. Your Google account is neither needed nor sent.

The proxy keeps a response cache so the same question is not paid for twice. What lands on the server's disk is a hash of the instruction and the model's answer — never the book passage itself. The answer does quote the text briefly and that cannot be avoided; it is a few dozen words, not a chapter. The cache is bounded and its oldest entries fall out.

The proxy's log contains numbers only: how many calls, how many tokens, what it cost. Not one sentence from a book, not one question, not one answer — a dedicated test enforces this on every release.

If you want nothing at all to leave your device, simply do not use those two features. Everything else — reading, anchors, Rhythm, annotations, boards, search and exports — works without the model, and is meant to.

Children

The application is not directed at children under thirteen and does not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights, and how to delete everything

We keep no accounts and store none of your content, so there is nothing for us to hand over or erase — the data is yours and only you control it. In practice:
